Operations Research techniques require supporting technologies to enable them to be used effectively. Decision Logic adopts a range of technologies to enable the most efficient and effective decision support services to be delivered to our clients. Although highly skilled in using spreadsheets and their supporting technologies, we are also noted for our specialist abilities in the use of discrete event, discrete rate and continuous event simulation using the ExtendSim simulation environment. Analytical simulation technologies are required to sufficiently model problems that need to go beyond static spreadsheet solutions. These problems can be generally characterised as those requiring the detailed analysis of "whole strategies". A whole strategy analysis might need to account for cost, capability, risk, scheduling policies, prioritisation policies, resource levels and capability choices all in the one model in order to support rapid trade-off analysis to reach the most suitable decision. Our technologies are:- Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS)
- Well developed, thus reducing time to solve new problems
- Applicable to situations that reduce the impact of ITAR on US firms
- Produce solutions that are highly visual and easy to comprehend and understand
- Visually representative of the flows, logic and behaviour of real systems
- Modularised so that validation and verification efforts are easier
- Highly adaptable and flexible
- Work in conjunction with our set of analysis techniques
Basic and advanced technologies that we use to support our analytical techniques are outlined below.
