Dampier Salt Limited (DSL): DSL is a Rio Tinto business operating in Western Australia.  Decision Logic was engaged to create an analytical simulation of their salt growth operations to provide them with a support tool to statistically assess the impact of future uncertainty of weather on salt growth over time.  The analytical simulation uses up to 68 years of daily weather data to fit historical probability distributions of monthly and annual total rainfall and evaporation for multiple sites. These distributions are then used as a basis to simulate future operations, calculating salt growth and total salt under management based on time phased customer demand.  The model enables internal statistical analysis to support business planning decisions rapidly and robustly.  It is also integrated with MS Excel and JMP for advanced statistical analysis and decision support.

Orica: Decision Logic was engaged to create a highly detailed working virtual prototype of a planned manufacturing facility.  The intention was to test their plant design quantitiatively prior to construction to reduce risk.  The solution analytical simulation was designed and built by Decision Logic, and enabled an evidenced-based quantitative assessment of the numbers of machines, shift structures, inventory management policies, production scheduling approaches and more.  The model was successfully used to guide the project planning of this major undertaking.

Queensland University of Technology (QUT): During 2010, Decision Logic has provided consultancy services to QUT in the area of modelling and simulation adviceto assist them in their creation of the ground breaking Smart Transport Centre of Excellence.
